GEODESIC DOME
We built a geodesic dome greenhouse! Eventually we'll install an internal massive rocket heater to experiment with growing food year-round in Newfoundland. Plus, it's a wonderful place to be if you're seeking some peace of mind.
OUR GARDEN
Our garden was entirely hand dug and is tended to with permaculture methods. We never use any chemical fertilizers. Rather, kelp, kitchen scraps, and other organic material end up in our compost bin and make for a robust organic fertilizer. We also collect & save our seeds for future harvests!
BICYCLE-POWERED
WASHING MACHINE
We're planning to build a bicycle-powered washing machine. You can get your clothes nice and clean while also getting a cycle workout. We got the design from these guys. Then you can of course also feel free to hang the clothes on the outdoor clothesline if it's a clear day.
OUTHOUSE &
SOLAR SHOWER
Our outhouse is bright and airy, with a gravity and rain fed sink and lots of privacy. Next door we're building a solar shower, also gravity and rain fed and, obviously, heated by the sun!
